Duke Power had technicians working on two separate outages this morning that affected more than 2,000 local customers.
The bigger outage cut power to 2,370 Rowan County customers, according to the update on www.dukepower. com. A spokesman for the Charlotte company said a worker expected that power to be restored by about 11 a.m. after a piece of equipment failed.
Another technician was on the way to an outage affecting 281 customers in Cabarrus County, but the spokesman was unsure of the cause of that outage.
