Police seek man in burglary and sexual assault

Kannapolis ó Detectives from the Kannapolis Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division are investigating a burglary and sexual assault that occurred on Sunday, Aug. 10.
At approximately 5:40 a.m. on Aug. 10, officers responded to the 400 block of Denver Street for the report of a burglary and sexual assault that had just occurred.
Officers learned that the 20-year-old female victim was asleep in bed when a lone male suspect forced his way into the home. The victim woke up after hearing the suspect in her home. The suspect then bound the victim’s hands and sexually assaulted the victim at knifepoint prior to leaving the residence. The suspect took several items of personal property from the residence as he was leaving.
The suspect is described as a black male with dark completion, 20-30 years old, approximately 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches in height, 210-230 pounds, bald or very short hair with no facial hair, wearing at black T-shirt and black pants.
