Pfeiffer appoints new director for therapy and training clinic

Pfeiffer University has appointed William De Leo clinical director of the Pfeiffer Institute, a new community-based therapy and training clinic at 4805 Park Road, Suite 250,near the university’s Charlotte campus.
De Leo will direct, manage and coordinate the institute, a field placement source for qualified marriage and family therapy graduate interns from Pfeiffer and other university counseling programs.
A licensed marriage and family therapist, he was Wilmington regional director of the N.C. CareNet Counseling Centers for three years. He has been a clinical member of the American Association for MFT since 1987 and an approved supervisor since 1993.
He served 26 years in the U.S. Army chaplaincy and worked his way up to the rank of colonel specializing in marriage and family care for 14 years.
He has a master’s degrees in family studies from Kansas State University and educational psychology from the University of Texas at El Paso and a divinity degree from Gordon-Cornwell Theological Seminary. He has also completed doctoral studies in marriage and family therapy at Amridge University.
