Michael Bates, 17, a senior at North Rowan High School, will receive his Eagle Scout award today at Mount Tabor United Methodist Church.
Steve Miller, Scoutmaster of Troop 349, sponsored by Central United Methodist Church in Spencer, will make the presentation.
Bates, the son of David and Angela Bates of Salisbury, has earned 23 merit badges. He is chaplain’s aide for the troop. He has earned the Order of the Arrow and has been to the Florida Sea Base, where he did the Island Adventure and the Sailing Adventure.
