The “Penny Harvest” came in Wednesday, and it was a good year.
Twelve 4-year-olds from First United Methodist Church Preschool walked two blocks with their teachers, a parent and the program director to the Salisbury Post to deliver the harvest ó $304.25.
Contributing their loose change to the Christmas Happiness fund is an annual tradition for the children, ages 2-4.
Preschool director Patsy Langlais said the 47 children enrolled in this year’s program brought in their change Nov. 1-26. “We explained that it’s to help families that are in need,” she said.
Every year, the 4-year-old class is given the honor of personally delivering the money collected. Langlais said they look forward to it every year.
