Pair jailed on various drug charges

Members of the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigative unit executed a search warrant on a Salisbury home and confiscated a number of drugs.

Deputies seized two Xanax tablets, two hydrocodone tablets, 11.4 grams of marijuana, 11 ecstasy tablets and three grams of cocaine. A .22 caliber semi-automatic handgun was also recovered.

Robert Anthony Hart, 20, of 345 Roseman Road, Salisbury, and Tasha Nichole Simpson, 18, of 615 N. Juniper St., Kannapolis, were charged in this incident.

Simpson was charged with the following: possession of a stolen firearm, two counts possession with the intent to sell and deliver ecstasy, simple possession of Xanax, simple possession of a schedule III (hydrocodone), possession with the intent to sell and deliver marijuana, possession with the intent to sell and deliver cocaine. She remains in the Rowan County Detention Center under $35,000 secured bond.

Hart was charged with the following: posssession with the intent to sell and deliver cocaine, possession with the intent to sell and deliver marijuana, simple possession of schedule III (hydrocodone), simple possession of schedule IV (Xanax), maintaining a vehicle/dwelling to distribute a controlled substance, possession of a firearm by a felon, possession with the intent to sell and deliver a schedule I (ecstasy).

Hart is currently on probation for selling ecstasy. He was convicted in November. He remains in the Rowan County Detention Center under a $25,000 secured bond.

Both Simpson and Hart have a first court appearance today.

Hydrocodone is a pain reliever and Xanax is an anti-anxiety medication.
