Police are searching for a man and woman who they say broke into a car at Casa Grande and went on a spending spree with the victim’s credit cards.
The victim discovered the break-in and theft, which occurred around 6 p.m. Sept. 14, after eating at the 905 Klumac Road restaurant, according to a Salisbury Police Department report.
Soon after the theft, police say, the suspects used four credit cards at a Salisbury Rushco convenience store, a Kannapolis Lowe’s Home Improvement store, a Concord Wal-Mart and several Harris Teeter and the Pantry stores in Charlotte.
The pair used the credit cards twice at Wal-Mart and five times in Charlotte, Salisbury Chief Deputy Steve Whitley said.
Whitley called the man and woman people of interest.
The suspects purchased about $3,000 worth of merchandise with the cards and some stolen cash, police said.
The two were captured on surveillance video inside Lowe’s. The video shows a black man, about 5 feet 9 inches tall and 185 pounds, wearing a gray T-shirt, blue jeans and black sneakers.
The video also shows a white woman with brown hair pulled into a ponytail. She is wearing dark capri pants, flip flops and what appears to be a flowery shirt.
She is described as 5 feet 6 inches tall and between 150 and 160 pounds.
Investigators think the suspects may live in the Charlotte or Concord area.
