Jeff Childress and his boys caught 12 redfish in Boca Grande, Fla., over the Christmas holidays. The fish ranged from 32-36 inches and weighed 15-20 pounds.
His sons, Michael, 8, and Ben, 4, were part of the trip.
“We go to Boca Grande every year for Christmas since my wife’s parents live there and it is 85 and sunny most of the time,” Childress said in an e-mail to the Post. “Michael did pull in about four by himself. Ben tried to pull one in, but the fish were so strong they would have pulled him in the water.”

Steve Sechler’s third deer of the season was his biggest ever, a 190-pound 8-pointer. Sechler said the rack measured 27 1/2 inches. He was hunting in Rowan County and said the deer was the biggest he’s shot in 28 years of hunting. He plans on processing the meat himself and will get the head mounted.
