Ruby S. Dunlap
Ruby Sanders Dunlap, 86, formerly of 922 Oakwood Ave., died Thursday, March 13, 2008, at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast, Concord, after a week of serious illness.
Born Nov. 17, 1921, in Anson County, Mrs. Dunlap was a daughter of the late Thomas Andrew and Mary Ponds Sanders.
A resident of the area since the 1940s, she worked for years at Cannon Mills Company Plants 1 and 6.
She was a member of West Point Baptist Church and previously attended Royal Oaks Baptist Church, where she taught vacation Bible school.
Her husband, Winfield H. Dunlap, died Nov. 18, 2002, and son Dennis Dunlap and a grandson also preceded her in death.
Survivors include son G. David Dunlap, Kannapolis; daughter Delores Drye, Kannapolis; two grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
A funeral was held Monday, March 17, 2008, at Whitley’s Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Blair Bridle and the Rev Brian Franklin. Burial, Carolina Memorial Park.
