Tailpipe covers were stolen off a vehicle parked at Wal-Mart, 323 S. Arlington St., according to the Salisbury Police Department.
Charlotte Butler Dillard told officers the covers, valued at $55, were removed around noon Oct. 9.

– Brenda Logan Locklear reported a 1993 Oldsmobile stolen the night of Oct. 8 from Lafayette Street.
– Christopher C. Carroll, an inmate at Piedmont Correctional Facility, 1245 Camp Road, was charged Oct. 9 with possession of cocaine on prison premises.
– Christine Maness was charged Oct. 9 with misdemeanor larceny, accused of taking $46.23 worth of clothing and perfume from Wal-Mart, 323 S. Arlington St. Trial date is Nov. 4.
– The fraudulent use of company credit card was reported Oct. 9 by Floortech, 1901 W. Innes St.
– Vandals damaged a street sign at the corner of South Caldwell and West Monroe streets Oct. 9.
– John Michael Lenhausen reported audio equipment valued at $670 was stolen after someone broke into his vehicle while it was parked at 1811 W. Jake Alexander Blvd. the night of Oct. 9.
– Jessica Hurd was charged Oct. 10 with shoplifting by concealment of $101.48 worth of cosmetics at Wal-Mart, 323 S. Arlington St.
– A scooter was stolen Oct. 10 from the parking lot at Joker’s, 2168 Statesville Blvd.
– Luz Avila, 1055 McKinley Lane, reported a burglar broke into her home the night of Oct. 9.
– Michael Jermaine Litaker, 21, was charged Oct. 8 with simple assault at 213 Harrell St.
– Maurice Darnell Miller, 20, 1017 Bringle Ferry Road, No. 14, was charged Oct. 8 with assault on a female based on a complaint by Lisa Allison, 414 S. Merritt Ave. Trial date is Nov. 6.
– James Franklin Ward, 35, 527 Cedar St., was charged Oct. 9 with a domestic violence protective order violation and telephoning repeatedly for the purpose of annoying based on a complaint by Pamela Leann Abernathy of Landis. He was held pending a bond hearing. Trial date is Nov. 6.
