Interest in the presidential race is prompting a rash of calls to the Rowan County Board of Elections office.
Apparently, a lot of new voters want to cast ballots in the Super Tuesday primaries today.
However, North Carolina is not among the states holding primaries today. This state’s primary elections will be held May 6.
Elections Director Nancy Evans said Monday the department has fielded a lot of calls ó and disappointed many with the news.
“We’re glad they are interested the election, but we don’t want people going to the polls and getting mad that there is no election,” Evans said.
Both Democrats and Republicans will vote in the statewide primary.
