New tutors complete workshop sponsored by Literacy Council

Six new tutors recently completed a Laubach workshop sponsored by the Rowan Council Literacy Council.
Tutors completing the 13-hour course were: Anita Foreman, Gretchen Forrest, Gail Jackson, Jennifer Loftin, Paula Sanders and Samuel Towne.
Trainers Clyde Harriss, Phyllis Martin and Carolyn Myers conducted the workshop.
The training is for nonprofessional people who would like to help others improve their reading skills or teach English as a second language to foreign-born residents.The Literacy Council offers tutoring services to any adult 16 and older. Anyone wanting to register for the next workshop or to receive tutoring help should call the Literacy Office at 704-216-8266.
The Literacy Council is supported by the Rowan County United Way.
