A Mount Ulla man was placed under a $350,000 bond Thursday after being charged with first-degree attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.
Patrick Sinclair Sherrill, 27, of 520 Joe Rankin Road, Mount Ulla, is alleged to have attempted to murder William David Briggs. Sherrill also is charged with assaulting him with a handgun inflicting serious injury, according to arrest reports. Both offenses are alleged to have occurred on Nov. 28.
Sherrill is scheduled for a Jan. 20 first-appearance hearing in Rowan County District Court.
