Military news: Parks commands battalion in S. Kores

Army Lt. Col. James C. Parks has assumed command of the 41st Signal Battalion, Yongsan Army Garrison in Seoul, South Korea.
The lieutenant colonel has served in the military for 18 years.
He is the son of James and Corine Parks of Salisbury.
His wife, Tracci, is the daughter of Pauline Cunningham of Winston-Salem.
Peter MossThe Commander Submarine Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet, announce the retirement of Lieutenant Commander Peter R. Moss on Oct. 10, 2008. He is retiring after 30 years active duty in the U.S. Navy.
Moss is the son of Ray and Betty Moss of Kannapolis. He entered the Navy upon graduation from West Rowan High School. He has served on a number of submarines, and the last four years of service he has been assigned to Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.
He is married to Carolyn Percival Moss and has an 11 year old daughter, Emily, and a 24 year old son, Daryl. The family will continue to live in Hawaii.
