The March of Dimes N.C. Chapter has named Katie Tocci as community director.
Tocci joined the March of Dimes team in January, working in the 15-county area which comprises the Foothills Division.
She is responsible for coordinating and implementing cost-effective, mission-driven fundraising, supporting communication and program activities and managing advocacy and public affairs campaigns.
She has also been focusing on two March for Babies fundraising events in Caldwell and Rowan counties.
Rowan County’s 2008 March for Babies was held April 12 at Catawba College and is continuing to raise funds to surpass its goal of $55,000.
Tocci has seven years of communications and public relations experience in the Hickory area. She is a graduate of Elon University with a bachelor of arts degree in corporate communications and a minor in Spanish. She lives in Caldwell County with her husband and two children.
