Nearly 70 percent of schools in the Rowan-Salisbury School System did not meet federal testing standards last school year, according to recently released data.
The standards, part of No Child Left Behind, are based on federal targets for high schools and math scores in elementary and middle schools.
To meet federal standards last school year, at least 77.2 percent of students in elementary and middle school were required to pass the math test.
