A pedestrian was airlifted Saturday afternoon after being struck by a car on Long Street.
According to Sgt. John Lanier of the Salisbury Police Department, Gary Brown was hit when he stepped in front of a car on Long Street just north of its intersection with Park Avenue.
A report of the accident wasn’t available Saturday night. Lanier said he didn’t know Brown’s address or age.
He said Brown was taken by ambulance to Rowan Regional Medical Center, then airlifted to Carolinas Medical Center – Charlotte. A hospital spokeswoman said she had no information on Brown’s condition Saturday night.
“From what I’m told, he wasn’t doing too good,” Lanier said of Brown.
He said the pedestrian suffered head injuries.
