An elderly Salisbury man charged with indecent liberties with a child admits to multiple victims during the past 10 years.
Aubrey Neal Grimes, 81, of 1040 Ashford Circle, was charged Thursday with two counts of first-degree sex offense with a child and one count of taking indecent liberties with a child.
Grimes, known to many as Pops, has been associated with Little League baseball in eastern Rowan County.
He apparently did some announcing and scorekeeping, Rowan County Sheriff’s Capt. Kevin Auten said.
Officials confirmed Friday the victim was an 8-year-old boy who was not with the Little League.
Grimes gave a statement that matched the victim’s statement in the case, a press release said.
According to the release, Grimes also “implicated himself in multiple counts of incident conduct.”
The incidents occurred in 2007 at Grimes’ home. A parent filed a report that opened up the case.

Officials were notified Nov. 7 of a possible crime being committed at Grimes’ Ashford Circle home.
He was convicted in 1987 of indecent liberties in Guilford County.
Officials said Grimes was not in the state’s sex offender registry because the N.C. registry was not in use until July 1996.
Grimes has volunteered for years to mow grass and support players at home or away Little League games.
A concession stand at the East Rowan ball field in Faith is named after Grimes.
He remains in the Rowan County Detention Center under $100,000 secured bond. His first appearance is slated for Monday in Rowan District Court.
