'Mac' Brown earns Eagle Scout award

George McCulloch “Mac” Brown received his Eagle Scout award July 13 at Back Creek Presbyterian Church, where he is a member.
The presentation was made by Maurice Parker, Scoutmaster of Troop 404. For his Eagle project, Brown designed and built a bridge at Sloan Park with his troop.
Brown is a 2008 graduate of West Rowan High School, where he was a member of the football team and Hunter Safety Competition Team. He plans to attend Rowan-Cabarrus Community College. He works at the family business of yard and garden supplies.
He is the son of George Henry and Mona Spry Brown of Mount Ulla. He rides dirt bikes, fishes, hunts and camps.
