Headbutting a police officer earned a Lexington man a stay in Rowan County Jail on two charges of assault.
Ricky Andrew Bunton, 22, of 2639 Junior Order Home Road, is charged with assault on a government official after alledgedly ramming his head into the throat and head of Officer P.A. Jones.
Officer Jones was attempting to arrest Bunton on a charge of assaulting a female. Reports say Bunton assaulted Jena Bunton by throwing her across the room.
Bunton is held in the Rowan County Detention Center under $2,500 bond.
