KANNAPOLIS ó A 36-year-old Kannapolis man was arrested Tuesday and charged with multiple sex offenses involving two female children ages 10 and 11.
Police Investigator Cheryl Hearne arrested Billy Joe Tysinger, 302 Easy St., after he turned himself in.
Tysinger is charged with six counts of first-degree sex offense against a child and two counts of taking indecent liberties with a child.
Tysinger was taken to the Cabarrus County Jail, where he was given a $250,000 bond.
This investigation began on July 31, after the mother of one of the victims came to the Police Department and filed a report.
During the course of the investigation, detectives learned the abuse may have been going on for several months. Detectives conducted numerous interviews during the investigation, which led to sufficient probable cause to arrest Tysinger on the charges.
He is scheduled to appear in court today.
