Highway Patrol officer arrests Florida man on drug charges during routine traffic stop

A Florida man was placed under $200,000 secured bond after more than 400 grams of cocaine was found in his vehicle during a routine traffic stop Wednesday.
Scott Michael Hearyman, 24, of Cape Coral, Fla., is scheduled for a first-appearance hearing today in Rowan County District Court on two charges of trafficking cocaine, according to arrest reports. Hearyman was also charged with possession of powder incense used to prepare a controlled substance, the reports said.
Trooper D.D. Peterson of the N.C. Highway Patrol was the arresting officer.
