Hayden Melchor finalist in regional broadcast contest

Hayden Melchor, son of Wendy and Tony Melchor of Woodleaf, was one of 10 finalists in the 3-A-Day of Dairy, Harris Teeter and Carolina Panthers Junior Broadcasting contest recently in Charlotte.
He competed in front of Mick Mixon, radio voice of the Panthers, and Jim Szoke, Panthers color commentator, for the chance to become an announcer in the Nov. 16 Panthers game.
He read a script and enjoyed a day at the stadium. The promotion is part of a national program to reachstudents with nutrition and fitness education.
