There’s no housing bust on Carpenter Circle, as Habitat for Humanity volunteers continue building dream homes for deserving people.
On Saturday, they worked on a house at 814 Carpenter’s Circle in Habitat’s Forest Creek Development.
The crew had to knock off early because of inclement weather, said Dave Rowh, Habitat’s construction supervisor, but they were no doubt itching to get back on the job and work toward a projected completion by the end of May. Construction began March 1.
The house is being built with a Thrivent Builds grant from Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. This is the second year Habitat Rowan has received a Thrivent grant, one of only 11 awarded around the state.
Rowh said crews working at the site Saturday were mostly with Thrivent. Emmanuel Lutheran Church members volunteered as well. Their tasks included insulating walls and floors and, as long as weather permitted, putting up siding.
The local Habitat project is part of a nationwide Thrivent Builds effort.
