Free trolley ride offered in exchange for donated school supplies

When people donate school supplies for Rowan County students they can take a free Trolley Tour ride this Saturday and Saturday, Sept. 13.
Trolley tours will leave the Visitor Center at 10 and 11 a.m., noon and 1 p.m., in cooperations with the Rowan Tourism Development Authority and the Salisbury Trolley Works.
The school supplies collected at this two-day event will be given to Communities In Schools of Rowan County to help less fortunate children in the Rowan-Salisbury School System.
Each year, approximately 50 percent of students qualify for the Free or Reduced Lunch Program. Many children start the school year without the needed tools to help them achieve success.
