CONCORD ó Authorities have charged four Charlotte men in connection with residential break-ins in western Cabarrus County.
The Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office says the men are responsible for about 20 break-ins in Cabarrus and may be suspects in others in the surrounding area.
Charged are Orlando Octavias Williams, 22; Damien Dominic Howard, 21; Desmond Demont Hope, 19; and Jaron Lee Perry, 22. Each has been charged with breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering and attempted breaking and entering and each is in the Cabarrus County jail under $200,000 bond.
More charges will be filed against the men, the Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
The Sheriff’s Office said deputies were patrolling the Rocky River Road area, where numerous break-ins have occurred, on Tuesday afternoon when they spotted men matching the description of suspects in the crimes ó including two burglar-alarm activations that day ó driving a vehicle that also matched witnesses’ descriptions.
The deputies stopped the 1998 Chevrolet Blazer and found numerous pieces of electronic equipment that had been reported stolen from homes in the county.
Detectives interviewed the suspects and charged them with the break-ins. The Sheriff’s Office said the men forced entry into victims’ homes during daytime working hours and stole electronics.
