Salisbury Police were investigating a single-car accident Saturday night in which the driver was killed.
The car flipped and hit a tree, according to reports, and the male driver was pinned in the vehicle.
He was pronounced dead at the scene. The accident happened at 1835 W. Jake Alexander Blvd. near Dan Street and in the vicinity of Woodleaf Lanes and the Salisbury Mall.
More details were expected to be released, pending notification of the victim’s relatives.
Near midnight, Salisbury police, fire, rescue and emergency medical teams also were called to a grinding, one-vehicle crash at N.C. 150 and Jake Alexander Boulevard in which three people were pinned in the wreckage.
All were conscious after being freed from the vehicle. One of the women in the car had a head injury, but her vital signs appeared stable. The injured were taken to Rowan Regional Medical Center.
The accident knocked out traffic signals and power in that area of Salisbury.
Heavy fog confronted all drivers in the area Saturday night.
