Washington program
Shaina Mortenson, a rising senior at Carson High School, attended the July 13-19 session of the Presidential Classroom’s Intelligence & National Security Program in Washington, D.C.
The session is designed to provide the highest quality civic education programs for outstanding high school students, using Washington, D.C., as a classroom to expand the students’ knowledge of politics, government and roles and responsibilities of institutions and organizations involved in policy-making.
Mortenson, an honor roll student, is a member of Carson’s French Club, National Honor Society, Junior Civitans and cross country and track teams.
She is the daughter of Dale and Jennifer Mortenson of Salisbury and a member of Calvary Chapel of the Triad youth group.
