Bostian Elementary School has received a grant to help teach science to autistic students.
The school will get $960 in a science and math improvement grant from the Toshiba America Foundation in New York City.
The money will go toward a school project called “Teaching N.C. Extended Content Science goals to Elementary Students with Autism Spectrum Disorders.”
Holly Watt, a teacher at Bostian, created the project, according to a press release from Toshiba.
Toshiba America Foundation, a non-profit organization, aims to contribute to the quality of science and math education by investing in projects designed by teachers.
The foundation supports hands-on lessons that will train students to become scientists or mathematicians.
