The faculty and staff of Cleveland Elementary School recently recognized the following students as December Good Citizens:
Kindergarten: Jackson Gannon, Anthony Rojas, Scarlett Dupuy, Nicholi Warren, Sarah Peters, Joseph Grimes and ZaQuavian Winford.
First grade: Libby Ball, Vanessa Silva, Jalen Houston and Desirae Culbertson.
Second grade: Hannah Annas, Rebekka Sommer, Karl Leo, Paige Barber, Courtney Bogle and Morgan Sehnal.
Third grade: Destini Shaver, Christina Sims, Nick Josey, Kaylen Shuping and Tre’ Byrd.
Fourth grade: Carolyn Miller, Tyler Harrington, Gladys Landaverde, Jaelyn Goodman, Dillon Bragg and Ruby Dubon.
Fifth grade: Kalena Powers, Kristen Bailey, Tyrell Johnson, DeShaun Bowers, Maegan Thorpe and Andrew Raynes.
Cleveland spelling beeBlake Shoaf was the grand champion in this year’s annual spelling bee at Cleveland Elementary School. He will represent the school in the countywide bee in February.
Chase Webb was the runner-up.
Other classroom participants in the school bee were Morgan Thorpe, Arturo Carillo, Tyrell Johnson, Tony Johnson, Sheen Sparks,Michelle Turner, Davin Rice, DeShaun Bowers, Brandon Riddle, Jessica Hendrix Lauren Compton, Stephanie Bishop and Kalena Powers.
Teacher sponsors were Betty Massey, Tina Lash and Bob Terry. Judges were Laura Fry, Michael Annas and Jeanette Stewart.
