Leadership forum
Taeya Teasley, 10, a fifth-grader at North Rowan Elementary School, has been accepted to attend the People to People World Leadership Forum in Washington, D.C., March 24-30.
Teasley will join a select group of students to earn high school credit while studying leadership and exploring some of the United States’ most prominent monuments and institutions.
The program is coordinated by People to People Student Leader Programs to fulfill the vision President Dwight D. Eisenhower had for fostering world citizenship when he founded the program in 1956.
Teasley was nominated and accepted for the honor based on outstanding scholastic merit, civic involvement and leadership potential. Daughter of Mammie H. Teasley, she is a member of Yadkin Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
