EAST SPENCER ó An East Spencer man was hospitalized after being stabbed Friday night or early Saturday morning.
Rodney Turner, 42, of 200 Grant St., was reported to be in stable condition Saturday at Rowan Regional Medical Center. A spokesman said Saturday night that Turner was no longer in the hospital.
According to police, Turner was stabbed in the abdomen and throat.
East Spencer police reported that an officer responded to a disturbance call in the 300 block of Weant Street.
Police found David Everhardt, 51, of 307 Weant St. standing in front of his residence. He was bleeding from the scalp.
According to a press release from the police department, Everhardt told officers he had been in a fight with Turner.
Officers then went to Turner’s home where they found him. He was transported to the hospital.
Everhardt is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.
He was placed in the Rowan County Detention Center with bond set at $50,000.
