Two men are hospitalized after shooting one another in eastern Davie County Monday afternoon.
Davie County Sheriff Andy Stokes said the argument concerned property boundaries.
“It’s been an ongoing dispute,” Stokes said.
Joseph Reid Wilson, 53, of Lewisville, and Bobby Grant Minor, 78, of Zimmerman Road, were both in good condition at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem Monday night.
Stokes said both men were shot twice.
The shooting happened about 2:15 p.m. in a field on Minor’s property on Zimmerman Road. Stokes said a .25-caliber handgun and a .9-millimeter handgun were used, though he didn’t know which man had which gun.
Stokes said details of the shooting are sketchy, though he said there is at least one witness. He said deputies responded to a call at the site earlier Monday and thought the matter was resolved.
Officers then left.
The second call for help was placed following the shooting.
Stokes said the property was in the process of being surveyed when the gunfire erupted. The men were taken by ambulance to the hospital.
Stokes said an investigation is ongoing. He said it hasn’t been determined if charges will be filed.
