Self-defense courses
MOCKSVILLE ó Davidson County Community College will sponsor evening self-awareness and defense courses for women on Oct. 13 and 27 in Mocksville.
All courses are scheduled from 6-9 p.m. on the Davie campus at 1205 Salisbury St. They will be taught by A.J. Farmer, a self-defense trainer for the State Highway Patrol. Tuition is $15.25. They are designed to help women stay safe, especially when holiday shopping begins and women are often distracted.
