COOLEEMEE ó Town officials will host a session on Nov. 20 to gather public input for its ongoing strategic planning process.
The town began the the six-month process in August with a committee of 10 volunteers working with Benchmark, planning consultants from Kannapolis. The committee is working to compile background information and identify key issues.
During the September session, the committee worked to create a public input survey which has been mailed to approximately 240 households on the Cooleemee’s newsletter mailing list. Surveys are also at the Cooleemee Town Hall.
The input session will be Thursday, Nov. 20, at 6 p.m. at the Cooleemee VFW at 7722 N.C. 801 South.
Those attending will be asked for their opinions on Cooleemee’s future regarding population and housing, economic and land development, community facilities and government services, environment and natural resources, and historic and cultural resources.
A draft plan with goals, recommendations, and implementations strategies should be completed by January 2009 with an additional public meeting in February 2009.
