CONCORD ó Police say a woman in face paint robbed a First Charter Bank branch at 871 N. Church St. on Monday.
The woman walked into the bank at 4:27 p.m. and demanded money from a teller, according to a Concord Police Department press release. The woman was not armed but made clear to the teller she was robbing the bank, the press release said.
The woman left the bank on foot after receiving an undisclosed amount of money from the teller. No one was injured.
Witnesses described the female robber as white, between 5 feet 2 inches and 5 feet 5 inches tall, with a medium build. She wore a North Carolina Tar Heels cap, a gray T-shirt and tinted, wire-rimmed prescription-style glasses. Her face and hands were covered in silver-blue paint.
Concord Police Department investigators and the FBI are investigating. No additional information was available Monday.
