Christmas Happiness: Miracles on the way
Published 12:00 am Wednesday, December 2, 2009
Post reader Patricia Maloney mailed a list of quotes to the editor of the Christmas Happiness fund lists.
Thanks, Patricia, for your thoughtfulness and for being a loyal reader of the Salisbury Post.
One of the quotes, by “O Pioneers!” author Willa Cather, seemed perfect for the challenge facing this year’s fundraiser: “Where there is great love, there are always miracles.”
It may take a miracle to meet the growing list of parents requesting help with Christmas gifts for their children. But there is great love in Rowan County, and if Cather was correct, miracles will surely follow.
Please bring Christmas Happiness contributions to the Salisbury Post, 131 W. Innes St., between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. weekdays or mail them to the Salisbury Post, P.O. Box 4639, Salisbury, N.C. 28145-4639. Make checks payable to the Christmas Happiness Fund and indicate how you wish your donation listed.Tuesday’s total $21,839.25Wednesday Afternoon Bridge Club: Phyllis, Mary, Nell, Ruth, Virginia, Bessie, Mildred, May and Elaine $90
