Authorities arrested a China Grove man Tuesday on 12 child sex offense charges involving three boys.
The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office arrested Donald Howard Helms III, 33, of 2416 Daughtery Road.

Helms was charged with six counts of indecent liberties with a child, one count of statutory rape and four counts of solicitation of another to commit a felony, according to arrest warrants from the Rowan County Magistrate’s Office.

The alleged offenses took place between December 2007 and Aug. 10 of this year, according to the arrest warrants.

The warrants do not list the ages of the other boys but state that they were under the age of 16 at the time of the alleged incidents.
Helms was jailed under a $50,000 bond.
