China Grove board to consider street work, commercial building

CHINA GROVE ó Aldermen will discuss streets and board training at a meeting Tuesday night.
The board will also conduct a public hearing for a conditional use permit and consider approval of a site plan for Northend Plaza.
The applicant wants to construct a 12,850-square-foot commercial building with a drive-through pickup window.
The property, owned by Samuel Grady Sloop, is located at 430 U.S. 29, south of Lentz Road.
In other business, the board will:
– Consider a resolution endorsing portions of the state highway Transportation Improvement Plan.
– Receive an update on proposals for street improvements from Dave Ketner, public works director.
– Consider setting a date for training for the Board of Aldermen.
– Establish a committee for streets and sidewalks.
The board meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Municipal Building, 205 Swink St.
