Child wanders from home, but found quickly

CLEVELAND ó A child who briefly went missing from his family was returned safely Wednesday morning.
According to the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office, the 20-month-old boy wandered away from his home at 2080 Mountain Road in western Rowan.
The child, who has a fondness for tractors, was found not far from the home near some tractors.
“He was not missing for very long,” said sheriff’s Capt. John Sifford.
Sifford said the call was received at 10:50 a.m. Officials arrived on the scene six minutes later. Sifford said the child was home at 11:05 a.m.
The Rowan County Rescue Squad, Rowan County Sheriff’s Office and Cleveland Police Department aided in the search.
