Faculty, staff, administrators and coaches at Catawba College are preparing to crank up a new academic year, and some students already have moved into their residence halls on campus.
The earliest arrivals on campus are trainers and athletes, including football, volleyball and men’s and women’s soccer team members.
Studies for students in Catawba’s evening program also get started this week.
Registration for students who plan to enroll in Block 1 of Catawba’s School of Evening and Graduate Studies will be held Wednesday, with Block 1 classes in that program beginning Thursday.
The next students returning to the campus ó in mid-August ó will be “alphas,” the upper class students who assist first-year students during the orientation process.
Some first-year students who participate in a retreat sponsored by Catawba’s Lilly Center will move into their residence halls early, while the bulk of first-year students will move in Aug. 18.
Various faculty meetings will be held the week of Aug. 14, followed by an orientation session for first-year students August 18-22.
Classes for traditional students enrolled in the day program begin Aug. 23, a Thursday.
