HARRISBURG ó Cabarrus County authorities are investigating a reported Tuesday evening shooting death.
The Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release deputies responded to a 911 call at 7:22 p.m. Tuesday about a man lying dead in the front yard at 3518 Julia Court.
Medical responders pronounced Tracy Dwayne Andrews, 50, of 3512 Julia Court, was dead at the scene.
Johnsie Yvonne Holt, also of 3512 Julia Court, called 911 and told investigators that Andrews came to her front door. As she approached the door, she saw him running away and into the neighbor’s yard, where he collapsed.
Holt told authorities that she checked on him and he appeared to have been shot.
Andrews’ body has been sent to the medical examiner’s office in Charlotte, where an autopsy will determine cause of death, the Sheriff’s Office said.
The Sheriff’s Office said in its press release that investigators are “still putting together information to determine what happened” and is not yet releasing additional information about evidence or potential suspects.
