Cabarrus authorities investigating death of 5-year-old

The Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a 5-year-old boy on Lower Stone Church Road Monday.
The death of Phillip Alexander Lee was reported to 911 operators by his 13-year-old brother, who also said their mother was unresponsive, according to a press release from the Cabarrus Sheriff’s Office.
First Responders from Rimer Fire Department arrived at the 4121 Lower Stone Church Road residence at 1:58 p.m. along with Cabarrus Sheriff’s deputies and Emergency Medical Service personnel.
Upon arrival, they found the 45-year-old mother, Robin Lee, in respiratory distress. She and the 13-year-old boy were transported to Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast in Concord by ambulance.
The body of Phillip Alexander Lee was found in his bed. An autopsy is being performed to determine the cause of death.
