Buffaloe retires from Social Security job

Ronald E. Buffaloe, district manager of Salisbury’s Social Security Administration office, retired Friday.
The Salisbury District is made up of Rowan, Davidson, Davie and Randolph counties. Offices are located in Salisbury and Asheboro.
Buffaloe has been district manager since 2003 and previously served as assistant district manager in Salisbury from 1982 to 2003.
He was the recipient of the Regional Commissioner’s Citation, the highest award given by the Social Security Administration in the Atlanta Region; the Joseph Walsh Cup, presented by the Atlanta Region Social Security Management Association; and twice received the Joseph Collins Award from the National Council of Social Security Management Associations. Buffaloe is a past president of both professional organizations.
He retires with more than 35 years of service with the Social Security Administration. The selection of a replacement has not been announced.
