Rowan/Kannapolis ABC Board to meet Thursday

The Rowan /Kannapolis Alcoholic Beverage Control Board will meet Thursday.

Items on the agenda include reports from finance, law enforcement, and General Manager Terry Osborne.

The board meets at 5:15 p.m. Thursday at the main office, 510 N. Lee St.

Property Rights Alliance meeting The Rowan Property Rights Alliance will meet Thursday to discuss the Trading Ford historic district.

The group will meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Miller Ferry Fire Department.

Dale Wagstaff, a co-chairman of the property rights group, said property owners will discuss concerns about historic designations and the national registry.

Tourism group to meet Wednesday

The Rowan County Tourism Development Authority will hold a special meeting on Wednesday at 11 a.m.

The board will consider a budget amendment and a personnel matter.

The board meets in the Gateway at 204 E. Innes St.

Free diabetes screening Friday

MOCKSVILLE — Free diabetes screening and blood pressure checks will be given from 9 a.m.-noon Friday at the Wal-Mart Supercenter, 261 Cooper Creek Road.

The screenings are sponsored by the Mocksville Lions Club in cooperation with “A Storehouse For Jesus Free Medical Ministries.”

Participants should come fasting for 4-6 hours before checks.
