Thief takes $1,090 in equipment from truck
A thief stole a variety of items after breaking into a company truck, according to the Salisbury Police Department.
A concrete moisture meter, a GPS navigation unit, a satellite radio and a briefcase containing paperwork were taken from the C.I.M. Eastern Inc. truck while it was parked at Comfort Suites, 1040 E. Innes St., the night of Jan. 15. Total loss was $1,090; however, the meter was found in a vacant lot near the hotel.

– James Hardin Hazard, 40, was charged Jan. 15 with possession of stolen goods, a license plate, at 319 Bendix Drive.
– Phillip Dubois Paschall, 212 Overman Ave., reported vandals caused $100 damage to his mailbox Jan. 16.
– Anthony L. Honeycutt and Chaka Sturdivant reported someone broke into their vehicles while they were parked at 602 Lakewood Drive the night of Jan. 15. A man’s gold bracelet was stolen from Honeycutt’s truck.
– Betty Meadows reported a 1953 Buick Roadmaster and other items stolen Jan. 12 or 13 from her parents’ home at 1820 Mooresville Road.
– Wendy Wenck reported vandals threw an object, damaging her vehicle as she traveled Jan. 16 on Morlan Park Road.
– A 25-year-old man reported he was assaulted Jan. 16 at 815 E. Innes St.
– A 21-year-old female reported she was pushed and cut with a knife Jan. 16 at Wal-Mart, 323 S. Arlington St.
– Michael Lee King reported a burglar broke into 502 E. Fisher St. Jan. 16.
– A 44-year-old man reported he was robbed and assaulted Jan. 16 at 1100 Locke St.
– A 23-year-old man reported he was stabbed Jan. 16 at Wal-Mart, 323 S. Arlington St.
– A 31-year-old man reported he was robbed Jan. 17 at the corner of West Horah and Messner streets.
E. Spencer teenager accused in stabbing
Kiara La’Shay Bost, 18, 913 N. Long St., East Spencer, was charged Jan. 16 with assault inflicting serious injury based on a complaint by Antoinette Donise Garrison, 469 Steeple Chase Trail. Bost is accused of stabbing Garrison in the leg in January 2007. Trial date is Feb. 28.
In other reports from Salisbury Police:
– Brandon Eugene Rhodes, 21, 1206 Bringle Ferry Road, was charged Jan. 14 with assault on a female based on a complaint by Shirlise Ilene Walker, 412 S. Iredell Ave., Spencer. He was held pending a bond hearing.
– Deborah Gay Rhodes, 42, 418 Park Ave., No. 2, was charged Jan. 19 with misdemeanor larceny at Wilco Hess, 500 E. Innes St. She was held under $100 secured bond pending a Feb. 25 trial date.
