Two women accused of hiding merchandise

Kristin Lea Byrd, 31, 176 Wooten Cove Road, No. 3, Weaverville, and Veronica Mitchell King, 37, 1209 W. Fourth St., Gastonia, were charged Jan. 19 with concealment of merchandise.

They are accused of concealing more than $500 worth of merchandise in bags at Food Lion, 525 W. Jake Alexander Blvd. They were held under $2,500 secured bond, each pending a March 7 trial date.

In other Police Department reports:

* Demetrius Dion Nunn, 32, 408 Irma St., Lexington, was charged Jan. 19 with two counts of felony assault with a deadly weapon based on a complaint by Matthew Benjamin. He was held under $10,000 secured bond pending the next term of Rowan Superior Court.

* Timothy Darnell Blackwell, 28, 1619 N. Main St., was charged Jan. 20 with felony trafficking in cocaine, possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and two counts each of assault by pointing a gun, assault on a female and failing to pay child support at 1811 W. Jake Alexander Blvd. He was held under $380 secured bond on the child support warrants and $15,500 on the other charges pending a first appearance in court Jan. 23.

* Kristy Starr Beck, 26, 213 Woodbury Drive, Faith, was charged Jan. 20 with misdemeanor shoplifting of a pair of shoes from a store at Salisbury Mall, 1935 W. Jake Alexander Blvd. Trial date is March 7.

* Rodney Scott Feamster, 38, 122 Reamer Circle, was charged Jan. 20 with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury based on a complaint by Lionel Keith Lewis, same address. Feamster was held under $500 secured bond pending a March 13 trial date.

* Tammie Ann Boyer, 45, address given as streets of Salisbury, was charged Jan. 20 with resisting, delaying and obstructing a public officer, procuring or soliciting for prostitution and failing to appear in court. She was held under $800 secured bond pending a March 12 trial date.

* Johnny Wayne Luckey, 47, address given as streets of Salisbury, was charged Jan. 21 with resisting, delaying and obstructing a public officer, possession of drug paraphernalia, second-degree trespassing at Wilco Hess, 500 E. Innes

St., and failing to appear in court. He was held under $1,000 secured bond pending a Feb. 20 trial date.

* Raymundo Montes Sanchez, 28, 280 Vista Drive, was charged Jan. 21 with misdemeanor larceny of chrome running boards from a pickup owned by Jeff Lentz while it was parked at Cloninger Ford for repairs. He was held under $1,000 secured bond pending a March 8 trial date.

* Ronnie Lamont Pegues, 20, 2214 Riush Wind Drive, Charlotte, was charged Jan. 22 with resisting, delaying and obstructing a public officer and possession of a controlled substance after officers approached his vehicle while it was parked behind Port Java in the Ketner Center parking lot on West Innes Street. He was held under $1,000 secured bond pending a March trial date.

* Donald Greg Beaver, 29, 220 American Drive, was charged Jan. 20 with resisting, delaying and obstructing a public officer and with being intoxicated and disruptive at Club Zidis, 127 S. Main St. He was held under $500 secured bond pending a Feb. 22 trial date.

* Ronald Lee Brown, 44, 125 Maggie Ave., was charged Jan. 19 with communicating threats based on a complaint by Cynthia Lynn Ruff of Beaufort. He was held under $1,500 secured bond pending a Feb. 27 trial date in Carteret County District Court.

* Joel Anthony Woodhull reported vandals broke a window at 729 Elm St. between Jan. 17 and 20.
