Vandals spray paint Bostian Elementary School cafeteria patio

Vandals spray painted the patio outside the cafeteria at Bostian Elementary School, according to the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office.

Erma Jean Deal reported the incident occurred at the 4245 Old Beatty Ford Road school between Dec. 29 and Jan. 2.

In other Sheriff’s Office reports:

* Scott Emerson Bekowitz, 18, 560 Gaskey Road, was charged Jan. 4 with possession of stolen goods/property in the Cheeseman’s General Store parking lot. He was released on a written promise to appear in court Feb. 15.

* Christian Fitzgerald Reid, 34, 623 Archdale Drive, Charlotte, was charged Jan. 4 with felony larceny of a motor vehicle and failing to appear in court. He was held under $3,000 secured bond pending a Jan. 8 first appearance in court.

* Marcus Dalton, 28, 6010 Foster Road, Cleveland, was charged Jan. 4 with felony failure to register as a sex offender. He was held under $4,500 secured bond pending a Jan. 5 first appearance in court.

* A burglar broke into a 120 Dunnsview Drive home Jan. 4 and stole electronic items, games, DVD movies and a flip phone. A neighbor, Ashley Phillips, called the owner, Teresa Ijames Morrison, after she noticed the front door open and lights on when she knew Morrison wasn’t at home. Total loss was $1,700.

* Charles Stanley Bangert, 27, 260 Falcon Lane, was charged Jan. 4 with assault on a female based on a complaint by Rodney Burris, 265 Hartman Road. Trial date is Feb. 8.

* Gregory Cornelius Moore, 21, 925 Long Bow Road, was charged Jan. 5 with assault on a female based on a complaint by Katherine Moore, 502 Wesley Drive. He was held pending a bond hearing. Trial date is Feb. 22.

* Athena Debra Moore, 925 Long Bow Road, was charged Jan. 6 with simple assault based on a complaint by Katherine Moore, 502 Wesley Drive. Trial date is Feb. 22.

* Michael Wesley Stevens, 24, 185 Memory Lane, was charged Jan. 5 with felony larceny and felony breaking and entering. He was held under $10,000 secured bond pending a Jan. 8 first appearance in court.

* Jeronimo Sanchez-Rosales, 29, 310 Chevy Ave., was charged Jan. 5 with assault inflicting serious injury based on a complaint by Kimberly Dawne Bunton, 407 John St., Apt. 3, China Grove. He was held pending a bond hearing. Trial date is Feb. 8.

* Brandy Nicole Bangert, 25, 1175 Tarheel Trail, was charged Jan. 5 with possession of a Schedule II controlled substance on Rainey Road at Stone Road. Trial date is Feb. 7.

* Justin Brent Miller, 27, 558 Emanuel Church Road, Rockwell, was charged Jan. 6 with communicating threats based on a complaint by Michael A. Thomas, 5225 Fish Pond Road. Miller was released on a written promise to appear in court Feb. 8.

* Tami Bame Adams, 34, 745 Joe Lentz Road, was charged Jan. 5 with domestic criminal trespassing and misdemeanor larceny. He was held pending a Feb. 12 trial date.

* Michael Adam Hiatt, 18, 6590 Mooresville Road, was charged Jan. 6 with misdemeanor possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and a probation violation. He was held pending a trial date.

* William Martin Edge, 35, 2201 Nellie Beaver Road, Mount Pleasant, was charged Jan. 6 with possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia at 1200 Cannon Farm Road, Kannapolis. Trial date is Feb. 7.

* Dana Michelle Barnhardt, 20, 768 Blackwelder Farm Road, Rockwell, was charged Jan. 6 with possession of drug paraphernalia on Jaycee Drive at Rainey Road. Trial date is Feb. 7.

* Tiffany Neely Birst, 25, 1921 Garnell Ave., was charged Jan. 7 with assault and battery and making a threatening phone call based on a complaint by Jai Rashin Withers, 505 Cornwall Drive. Trial date is Jan. 18.

* William Timothy Rasmussen, 44, 380 Pleasant Cove, was charged Jan. 7 with assault on a female and communicating threats based on a complaint by Monica Rasmussen, same address. He was held pending a bond hearing. Trial date is Feb. 15.

* Steven Ray Ledbetter, 35, 6549 Enochville Circle, Kannapolis, was charged Jan. 7 with second-degree trespassing and resisting a public officer. He was held under $1,000 secured bond pending a Feb. 7 trial date.
