Basinger receives Eagle Scout award
Alex Basinger, 16, son of Andy and Angie Basinger of China Grove, will receive his Eagle Scout award today at First United Methodist Church, Salisbury.
Chris Thompson, Scoutmaster of Troop 301, sponsored by Mount Zion Lutheran Church, will make the presentation.
Basinger has earned 31 merit badges. He has been active in Scouting for 10 years. A junior at Carson High School, he is in the marching band, National Honor Society and Junior Civitan.
His Eagle Scout project was cleaning and repairing the nature trail at Knollwood Elementary and creating a picnic area.
Brummel earns Eagle Scout status
Robert Bertrand Brummel, 16, son of Deborah and Shane Johns of Kannapolis and Beau Brummel of Atlanta, Ga., received his Eagle Scout award Dec. 9, 2007.
He is a member of Troop 77 sponsored by Kimball Lutheran Church. Scoutmaster Chad Drye and Troop committee chairman Bob Hill presented the award during the 8:30 a.m worship service.
Brummel, a senior at A.L. Brown High School, earned 22 merit badges and served as a patrol leader and assistant senior patrol leader. He also worked at Camp Barnhardt this past summer as a counselor.
His Eagle project was to remove damaged trees from Kimball’s property and prepare the ground for a church youth garden.
Moore gains Eagle Scout award
Jeremy Hayden Moore, 17, son of Tracey and Warren Moore of Kannapolis, received his Eagle Scout award Dec. 9, 2007.
He is a member of Troop 77 sponsored by Kimball Lutheran Church. Scoutmaster Chad Drye and Troop committee chairman Bob Hill presented the award during the 8:30 a.m. worship service.
Moore, a senior at A.L. Brown High School, earned 24 merit badges and served as patrol leader and senior patrol leader.
His Eagle project involved refurbishing the walking trails at Baker’s Creek Park.
