A Badin man was jailed Monday on charges that he broke into and robbed a Salisbury home and held a teenager hostage in March.
Kerwyn Jermane Lewis, 27, of 201 Lincoln St., was jailed under a $100,000 bond, according to the Rowan County Magistrate’s Office. Salisbury Police arrested Lewis.
Police think Lewis broke into the home of Tabitha Livengood at 202 Roy St., according to the arrest warrant.
He is also charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon. Police think Lewis stole cash, various household items and computer and video equipment worth $2,979, the warrant says.
Lewis threatened Livengood and three other people with a handgun, according to the arrest warrant.
Lewis is also charged with second-degree kidnapping. Lewis kidnapped a person under the age of 16 “by unlawfully confining the victim and restraining the victim … for the purpose of holding the victim as a hostage,” the arrest warrant says.
